The Piggery takes shape

At the end of March Derm had to do a 9 day Hong Kong/Sydney trip which left me in charge...!!? This meant spending hours on the phone for timber and concrete prices, research into such wierd and wonderful materials as Tyvec, Celotex and Tri-Iso (all roof and wall insulation) and a huge amount of frustration as some things were available when we needed but others not. Spent a huge amount of money and filled the yard with enough materials to keep the job going for a while.
Scaffolding went up for the work on the roof and the concrete floor was laid. The scaffolding makes a perfect 'balcony' from which to view the sunset with a gin and tonic in hand! Wonder if I can persuade them to leave it up!












If you use your imagination, this will be all grass and a garden when finished .....

The lovely window frames came from Catton Windows. A really excellent job and the Farrow & Ball mossy green colour I chose for the paint looks every bit as nice as I hoped. One of them was fixed in place and then the roof tiles started to be taken off.



Believe Chris might be indicating the number of sugars he wants in his coffee here....!













So we're now at this stage. Lots of timbers to be replaced/reinforced but apparantly the work should move along a bit faster now.

Lambs still thriving. Hens laying 9 - 11 eggs a day - might have to sell them at the gate.



Ella and George Bell came over to feed the lambs one day with their uncle who is going to be organising the electrical work. Not sure Ella was terribly impressed with the lambs' attentions!
